Jill Freshney grew up in the UK and started her publishing career in London. After a move to California, she became managing editor for the manga publisher TOKYOPOP. She spent 12 years at Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group in New York, leading its managing editorial department as senior executive managing editor and overseeing their graphic novel imprint, First Second, among others. She is currently a freelance copy editor and proofreader, focusing on graphic novels and books for young readers.
